A local charity has received a grant to assist them in serving Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to low-income families and individuals in Twentynine Palms. Stater Bros. Charities awarded the $3,100 grant to Food for Life. Spokesperson Linda Geddis said the funds will be used to support the holiday meals that are provided to the community. The Betty Garrett Memorial Thanksgiving Meal will be served from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 24, at First Baptist Church in Twentynine Palms.
Saturday, December 24, the Christmas meal will be served at Palms Baptist Church on Adobe Road. A traditional dinner will be served from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Santa Claus will be present and children will receive gifts.
