It’s two steps forward and one step back in the decades-long struggle to bring potable water to 120 connections in Pioneertown. County Supervisors are expected to start the bidding process over in the search for a contractor to oversee construction of a four-mile pipeline to bring drinkable water to Pioneertown from a Hi-Desert Water District well in Yucca Valley. A request for bids went out in February but none of the responders had all the specialty licensing called for, so now the process starts over with slightly adjusted requirements. Also tomorrow, supervisors will reauthorize funding to pay for a full-time probation officer assigned to Morongo Unified School District and as well as a dozen other county school districts. Tomorrow’s meeting streams online and to the first-floor teleconferencing room in the County Government Center on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree where public comment may be made via live video link.
