Morongo Valley fire fighters were called to a commercial structure fire Monday afternoon. According to Fire Captain Jeff Rarey, an alarm went out at 12:16 p.m. from the Village Mart, on the corner of Senilis and the Highway. The store’s coolers had an electrical malfunction, which charged the building with smoke. The store’s employees were able to extinguish the flames in the building’s electrical box before fire fighters arrived. The fire fighters secured the electricity and ventilated the building.
