An argument between a Twentynine Palms man and his girlfriend over a car resulted in an arrest for carjacking Saturday. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Yost, the woman told deputies that Darrious McCoy, 24, was arguing with her over her car and threatened her with a knife in the 61600 block of Grenada in Joshua Tree about 10:30 a.m. He drove off in the car—with her in it. The woman managed to contact the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies located McCoy about one-half hour later, but he fled the scene again. About 12:15, deputies located Darrious McCoy at the Joshua Tree Community Center, where he was arrested for investigation of carjacking and violating his parole. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $250,000.
