A CALL FOR SQUATTERS IN PIPE’S CANYON RESULTS IN ARREST

A call about squatters on a vacant lot in Pipes Canyon resulted in the arrest of a Yucca Valley man for being a felon in possession of a weapon. Deputies were called to a vacant lot near Pipes Canyon Road and Old Woman Springs Road about 6 p.m. Thursday for an illegal bonfire. The caller said the squatters had been there for about a week. After an investigation, deputies arrested Jason Erickson, 42, for being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. Jason Erickson was booked into the Central Detention Center with his bail set at $25,000.
