A BIG DAY FOR THE KING OF THE HAMMERS TOMORROW

At yesterday’s 4-Wheel Parts qualifying race for the King of the Hammers off-road race, 105 racers qualified. The winner of the race was Jason Scherer of Danville. Tomorrow is the big day at King of the Hammers. The drivers for the 2016 Nitto King of the Hammers race start lining up at 6 a.m., with the start at 8 a.m. The race doesn’t close until 10 p.m. tomorrow. The awards ceremony will be held 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Between 25,000 and 35,000 people are expected to fill Hammertown, the temporary village out in the Johnson Valley Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Area. Admission to the King of the Hammers is a suggested donation of $20 for the week. For more information, visit ultra4racing.com.
