Twentynine Palms High School has had a banner year for advanced college placements. Each May students are screened for enrollment in special courses for which they can earn college credit. This year’s batch did especially well; of the 91 students tested, 65 qualified for special placement.
The school offers nine different advanced placement courses; in English language and composition; English literature and composition; calculus; statistics; chemistry; biology; US history; US government and politics; and Spanish language and composition.
This year’s highest number of passing scores—19—were in English language and composition. The highest passing percentage? 92 percent in none other than calculus.
