FIRE DESTROYS VACANT HOUSE IN WONDER VALLEY MONDAY MORNING

A fire destroyed a vacant house in Wonder Valley Monday morning (September 6). According to reports from San Bernardino County Fire Battalion Chief Bob Evans, crews were called to the 81600 block of Valle Vista Road around 8:30 a.m. for a report of a fire. Initial reports indicated there may have been a person in the building. Arriving crews found a single-family residence fully involved in flames as well as downed power lines. Fire crews mounted an attack, knocking down the fire in about 50 minutes, stopping the fire from spreading to nearby vegetation. The home was a total loss. Crews thoroughly searched the house and property and found no occupants. There were no injuries to fire crew members. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
