On August 3 the Town of Yucca Valley will be holding the ninth annual Full Moon 5K run through one of Yucca Valley’s most scenic routes. Walkers and non-competitive runners are welcome to participate in the Full Moon Run. The race begins at 7 p.m. in rain or shine at Machris Park in Yucca Valley. A map of the course is available at the Yucca Valley Community Center. Awards will be presented as the full moon rises to the top male and female overall winners and the top three male and female finishers in each age category. Registration fee for adults is $20. Children 12 and under and seniors 60 and over, the cost is $18. To enter the 2012 Full Moon 5K Run event, register on-line at www.yucca-valley.org or submit a completed entry form and registration fee to the Community Services Office located at the Yucca Valley Community Center, 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway. On-site registration is also available and begins at 6 p.m. the day of the event.
