After being out of service for hours Tuesday afternoon, the 911 emergency system is back up and running in the Morongo Basin as of about 8 p.m. Tuesday night. Morongo Basin CHP Officer Jason Kobaly notified Z107.7 News Tuesday afternoon that the Barstow Dispatch Center was experiencing issues with 911 calls. The broken 911 system affected calls within the areas of Barstow, Needles, Morongo Basin, and Victorville. Kobaly said the lines were down due to a cut fiber optic line.
