A helicopter and dogs were used to locate a missing eight year-old in Twentynine Palms on Sunday.
At around 1:45 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to the 6600 block of Sahara Ave after receiving a report of a missing eight year-old girl. It was reported by family members of the missing child that she chased after a dog that had escaped from the house.
The dog eventually returned, but the eight year-old did niot. A search, involving the Sheriff’s Aviation and K-9 units, ultimately found the eight year-old unharmed and hiding in a shed at a nearby property.
The child was returned to her family.
