“An Optimistic Stoic Embraces 2016” is the title of the Reverend Dr. Lou Gerhardt’s eight- week seminar beginning Thursday, January 7, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church at the corner of Onaga and Church Streets in Yucca Valley. The dates and topics are: January 7, “Christopher and Dana Reeve and Attitude;” January 14, “Martin Luther King, Jr. and Detachment;” January 21, “Albert Einstein and Curiosity;” January 28, “Tom Hanks and Engagement;” February 4, “Nelson Mandela and Forgiveness;” February 11, “Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Love;” February 18, “Pope Francis and Humility;” and February 25, “Werner Von Braun and Trust.” Each unit is self-contained. This not a Bible study. This is not a discussion group. It is basically a presentation of practical aids in the development of a more positive outlook on life and relationships. Good advice doesn’t change much but the illustrations and applications are fresh and helpful. Come when you are able. Each week there will be music by Paul Gerkin and refreshments will be offered. There is no charge. Telephone Gerhardt at 800-995-1620 or 367-4627 or Jananne Turner at 760-365-5695 with any questions.
