The Sheriff’s department is investigating the death of a Yucca Valley man as a homicide.
On Friday (September 13) just before 7 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies and medical personnel responded to a call for medical aid at a house in the 55500 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
Deputies report finding James Boutwell, 71, inside the home, and he was pronounced dead. As part of their investigation, the deputies determined that Boutwell was the victim of a violent assault, and the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail assumed what is now a murder investigation.
The Sheriff’s Department says, “ the suspect has not been identified and remains at large.”
