The 29 Palms Ministerial Association will host the 70th Annual National Day of Prayer this Thursday, (May 5) at Veteran’s Park at Twentynine Palms City Hall (6136 Adobe Road). Services will be held outdoors at 7 a.m. and Noon and are open to the public. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Seven key areas will be prayed for: 1) Family, 2) Church, 3) Workplace, 4) Education, 5) Military, 6) Government, 7) Arts, Media, & Entertainment. Mayor Karmolette O’Gilvie from the City of Twentynine Palms will present a Proclamation at the morning service.
