A dispute over rock collecting ended with gunfire and an arrest. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman was out collecting rocks about 7:30 p.m. Monday near the 69000 block of Timbuktu Road in Twentynine Palms, when another woman, identified as Dolores Kuester, 67, came out of her house and said the woman was trespassing on private property. The rock collector disputed that, saying she was on the road. Kuester allegedly went back into her house and got a rifle and fired one shot in the direction of the rock hound. Dolores Kuester was arrested for investigation of discharging a firearm, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
