Some of the events in the upcoming 66th annual Yucca Valley Grubstake Days celebration include a golf tournament, parade, pancake breakfast, and 5K, and 10K run and 2K walk. The golf tournament starts at 8 a.m. Friday, May 27, at Hawk’s Landing. Saturday, May 28, enjoy a pancake breakfast cooked by your firefighters at the Yucca Valley Elks Lodge, 55946 Yucca Trail. The Yucca Valley Grubstake Days parade starts at 10 a.m. on Highway 62, and travels eastbound from Inca Trail to Sage Avenue. The theme of the parade is “Adventures in the Desert” and this year’s Grand Marshal is Joshua Tree National Park, represented by Park Superintendent David Smith. Float trophies will be presented at 2 p.m. at the California Welcome Center. On Sunday, May 29, the town of Yucca Valley will sponsor the 5K and 10K run, and 2K walk, starting at 9 a.m. at the Yucca Valley High School.
