64-home development proposed for Joshua Tree residential parcel part of Tuesday’s County Board of Supervisor’s meeting

Lovemore Ranch is a 64-home development proposed for a nearly 19-acre parcel in Joshua Tree on Alta Loma Drive and Sunset Drive and is facing a round of community opposition at Tuesday’s meeting of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. The County’s Planning Commission earlier this year approved a tract plan that would subdivide the single parcel into 64 separate parcels.

The development has faced community resistance since it was announced, and the Morongo Basin Conservation Association has filed an appeal to the County’s approval of the subdivision. The MBCA says that the Planning Commission did not provice adequate public notice for the consideration of the subdivision though the Board’s agenda suggests they are leaning toward denying the appeal.

Several members of the community are expected to speak about the appeal. The Joshua Tree Community Center is expected to host a video feed enabling local residents to weigh in on the matter at 6171 Sunburst Street in Joshua Tree.

The meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
