The Runfest 5K Run is open to novice and experienced athletes of all ages. The flat and fast loop course starts and finishes at the Yucca Valley Community Center Soccer Field. The race starts at 7 p.m., just as the Eagles tribute band will begin its concert at the community center ballfield. After the run, participants are welcome to enjoy the music and light refreshments in a reserved runners lounge area. Awards will be presented to overall male and female winners. Commemorative participation medals will be presented to all finishers. Runners are encouraged to register in advance at the Community Services Office in the Community Center or online at www.yucca-valley.org. The registration fee for early birds, who register by July 31, is $20 and includes express check-in at the race, a souvenir race t-shirt and gift, and will be automatically entered in a drawing for a variety of fun door prizes. After July 31, registration is $25, or register on race day from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Souvenir shirts are guaranteed to early bird registrations only.
