It’s the 49th Battle of the Bell tonight, when the Yucca Valley High School Trojan football team will play their cross-basin rivals, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats. At stake is the Kiwanis Club Bell, which has been won by the Twentynine Palms Wildcats for the last 11 consecutive years, and 30 out of 48 years. The Wildcats are 6-and-3 overall, while the Trojans are 7-and-2 overall. Kick off for the varsity game is 7 p.m. at Trojan Field at Yucca Valley High School. The junior varsity game starts at 4 p.m. The JV Wildcats are 8-1; the junior varsity Trojans are 6-3. Fans are urged to arrive early.
