The 49 Palms Trail in Joshua Tree National Park will be closed Sunday nights through Thursdays until the end of March 2023.
Park managers said that the closure is necessary to maintain the trail, but are doing their best to keep it open for weekend park visitors.
\The closures will begin this Sunday, January 8, and each subsequent Sunday, at 10 p.m. and the 49 Palms trail will reopen each week on Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Hikers should be prepared to use other trails at the park during these closures.
