About 450 households in the west end of Yucca Valley were without heat, hot water, and cooking facilities for most of Monday while crews made repairs on a gas distribution line. Southern California Gas technicians were working on the distribution line at La Honda Way and Highway 62 since sometime Monday morning. One resident told Z107.7 that he had been without gas since 10 a.m. A gas company spokesman told Z107.7 News that the distribution line did not have sufficient pressure. After the line was fixed, technicians went house to house to turn the gas back on, and technicians had to enter the homes to check appliances. Some homes were still without gas as of Tuesday morning, but all homes are expected to be connected to gas today. At this time, it’s unknown what caused the problem.
