41ST MORONGO BASIN SEARCH AND RESCUE DESERT RUN WEEKEND BEGINS TOMORROW

The 41st annual Morongo Basin Search and Rescue Desert Run weekend kicks off tomorrow (October 1). The event is not a race, but a family-friendly off-road course with game-playing stations along the way. 4×4 vehicles, motorcycles, quads, buggies, and all other off-road vehicles are invited to join in on the 20-25 mile course, depending on your desired difficulty level. The cost is $60 for early registration, $65 on site, or $30 for Military personnel and first responders with valid ID. There will be prize drawings, vendor displays, food, and a 50/50 drawing. The event will be held October 1-3 at Means Dry Lake in the Johnson Valley shared-use area off of Highway 247. For more information, call 951-203-6816, email mbsar218@gmail.com, or visit desertrun.org.
