The 41st annual Morongo Basin Search and Rescue Desert Run weekend kicks off tomorrow (October 1). The event is not a race, but a family-friendly off-road course with game-playing stations along the way. 4×4 vehicles, motorcycles, quads, buggies, and all other off-road vehicles are invited to join in on the 20-25 mile course, depending on your desired difficulty level. The cost is $60 for early registration, $65 on site, or $30 for Military personnel and first responders with valid ID. There will be prize drawings, vendor displays, food, and a 50/50 drawing. The event will be held October 1-3 at Means Dry Lake in the Johnson Valley shared-use area off of Highway 247. For more information, call 951-203-6816, email [email protected], or visit desertrun.org.
