A 4-year-old child was among those slightly injured during a lunchtime three-vehicle collision in Joshua Tree that sent three people to the hospital with minor injuries Monday afternoon. According to the California Highway Patrol, Summer Wilkins, 25, of North Carolina, was driving her 2002 Ford Focus eastbound on Highway 62 and ran a red light at the Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree about 12:15 p.m. Wilkins collided with a 2005 Hyundai Tucson, driven by Teresa Frederick, 52, of Joshua Tree, who was traveling southbound through the intersection on a green light. The force of the crash caused Frederick’s Hyundai to collide with the metal traffic light pole, while Wilkins’ car collided into a 2004 Honda CR-V, driven by Carol Wood, 71, of San Diego. Summer Wilkins, a 4-year-old child in her car, and Teresa Frederick were all taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center with minor injuries.
