Two suspects were arrested, and hundreds of pounds of processed marijuana were seized by deputies following raids in Johnson Valley and Lucerne Valley Wednesday morning. The Sheriff’s Department had received numerous complaints about large outdoor marijuana cultivations in the areas. Beginning around 9 a.m. Wednesday, investigators from the Marijuana Enforcement Team served four search warrants on locations in both Johnson Valley and Lucerne Valley, seizing a total of 1,900 marijuana plants, more than 306 pounds of processed marijuana, and one firearm. Deputies also arrested Barsimeo Hernandez-Cruz, 30, of Oxnard and Gerardo Hernandez-Cruz, 21, of Santa Maria at one location. Barsimeo Hernandez-Cruz and Gerardo Hernandez-Cruz were both arrested for investigation of illegal marijuana cultivation, cited, and released.
