4 ARRESTS AFTER THE THEFT OF A COUNTY TRUCK IN JOSHUA TREE

Four people were arrested Monday, after a county truck was stolen in Joshua Tree. Deputies were called to the Joshua Tree Community Center about 6:10 a.m. Monday for a report of a stolen county maintenance truck. The driver said the truck’s keys had been left inside the vehicle while he and another employee were inside the community center. Deputies tracked the vehicle to the intersection of Rice and Pipeline Roads, where it was found abandoned. Evidence at the scene led deputies to a home in the 6100 block of Sunburst where they contacted Joseph Johnson, 39; Victor Finn, 46; and Tyrone Lopez, 44, all of Joshua Tree; and Rachel Margolies, 41, of Yucca Valley. Joseph Johnson was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000. Victor Finn was aware of the vehicle theft and had two active felony warrants; he was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and being an accessory after the fact, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $200,000. Tyrone Lopez refused to let deputies inside the home and he was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and being an accessory, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000. Rachel Margolies was arrested for her $300,000 in misdemeanor drug-related warrants, cited, and released.
