4 ARRESTED IN TWO JOSHUA TREE BURGLARIES

Two Joshua Tree residents were arrested Sunday afternoon, after they were found inside someone else’s home. According to a Sheriff’s report, when the owner of a home in the 5500 block of Sunburst Avenue came home about 3:30 p.m., he saw an unknown bicycle parked at the rear patio door, and could hear voices inside the home. Deputies entered the home and found Cody Lane, 21, and Oyushkaya Bolanisthumm, 19, inside the home. Cody Lane and Oyushkaya Bolanisthumm were cited for investigation of illegal entry in a home. In addition, Oyushkaya Bolanisthumm was arrested on a $250,000 warrant for forgery and was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail.

Two Joshua Tree residents were arrested late Saturday night, accused of breaking into a home in Joshua Tree. According to a Sheriff’s log, a witness saw three people breaking into a home about 9:30 p.m. in the 61900 block of Sunburst Circle. The witness told deputies that three people were hitting a lock on the garage in an attempt to break in, and were also trying to break into a car parked in the driveway. Responding deputies caught Michelle Rice, 40, and Donovan Hayes, 45, at the scene, while a third suspect managed to flee. Deputies performed a probation compliance check at Rice’s home in the 61600 block of Alta Vista, where they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Michelle Rice was arrested for violating her probation and for receiving stolen property. She was booked at the Morongo Basin jail and is being held without bail. Donovan Hayes was arrested on suspicion of violating his probation and is being held without bail at the Morongo Basin Jail.
