A 4.4-magnitude earthquake centered in Devore rattled parts of our region of Southern California Tuesday evening. Authorities at the U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake shook shortly before 6 p.m. along the intersection of the San Andreas and San Jacinto fault lines. Fire officials issued a level-one alert to check for damage, according to initial reports. The shaker was felt widely, including here in out Morongo Basin. There were no reports of damage or injury.
