38 people were arrested, and 26 illegal marijuana grow operations countywide, including four in Wonder Valley and two in Twentynine Palms, were shut down during the fifth week of illegal marijuana grow raids. According to Sheriff’s reports, deputies and investigators from the San Bernardino County Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served 26 search warrants at properties in Lucerne Valley, Wonder Valley, Twentynine Palms, Apple Valley, Pinon Hills, Phelan, and Newberry Springs from September 27 through October 1 as part of Operation Hammer Strike, week five. During this time, investigators arrested 38 suspects and eradicated 189 greenhouses. Deputies seized 24,818 marijuana plants, 9,627.8 pounds of processed marijuana, ten guns, and $302,000 in cash.
The raids came as a result of numerous complaints received regarding large outdoor marijuana cultivations in the areas. The suspects were cited or booked on charges of illegal cultivation of cannabis and possession of marijuana for sales. A complete list of suspects and raided properties is available below.
