The 35th annual desert run will be held Saturday, October 4, at Means Lake in Johnson Valley. Vehicle registration at Lake Means will take place Friday, October 3, from 4 to 10 p.m. The desert run is a 4-wheel drive course that is approximately 20 miles long with five game stations that you will encounter throughout the course. Anyone that can legally drive his or her off-road vehicle may enter. Be prepared to encounter hills, sandy washes and rocks throughout the course. The annual desert run is put on by the Morongo Basin Search and Rescue. For more information or online vehicle registration, visit www.desertrun.org.
