33 people were arrested, and 22 illegal marijuana grow operations countywide were shut down, including two in Twentynine Palms, one in Joshua Tree and one in Landers, during the seventeenth week of illegal marijuana grow raids. According to Sheriff’s reports, deputies and investigators from the San Bernardino County Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served 22 search warrants at properties in Lucerne Valley, Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, Landers, Johnson Valley, Rancho Cucamonga, Newberry Springs, Running Springs, Colton, Hesperia, Victorville, Phelan, and El Mirage from December 20 through December 26 as part of Operation Hammer Strike, week seventeen. During this time, investigators arrested 33 suspects and eradicated 56 greenhouses. Deputies seized 14,113 marijuana plants, 4,116.8 pounds of processed marijuana, eight guns, 9,550 grams (21 pounds) of concentrated marijuana and over $352,000 in cash. Investigators also mitigated one electrical bypass, one THC extraction lab, five indoor grow locations, and one marijuana delivery service.
The raids came as a result of numerous complaints received regarding large outdoor marijuana cultivations in the areas. The suspects were cited or booked on charges of cultivation of cannabis, over six plants, possession for sales of marijuana, illegal water discharge, manufacturing a controlled substance, attempted murder, and conspiracy.
