For those of you thinking about playing basketball for Twentynine Palms Park and Rec I recently interviewed employee Kari Minatrea and asked her a few questions. I asked her how many kids were expected to join this upcoming season. Minatrea replied, “They always expect around 450 kids to join each season and still expect around that amount this season.” She then added, “They’ve never had the problem of having to combine age groups since basketball is the most popular of their sports and they actually have an age division for almost every age.” I then asked if they would have to combine age their league with the one on base to which Minatrea said, “No they have never had to do so with basketball because they have always had enough participants.”
