Last week, the Twentynine Palms City Council voted unanimously to contract with a private security company to respond to complaints about vacation home rentals. This company will enforce vacation rental rules as well as patrol certain areas such as the parks and areas that have been targeted with graffiti and vandalism.
Southwest Security will be out between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. patrolling. The patrol is to minimize disruption from short term renters and enforce nuisance regulations as needed.
