A man was arrested for suspicion of attempted murder in Twentynine Palms after allegedly firing a gun at a man walking his dog.
On Wednesday at around 5 p.m., a man walking his dog near Appian Way and Lee Drive in Twentynine Palms reported an encounter with an aggressive person. The victim told Sheriff’s Deputies a man he did not know, later identified as Eugene Godick, a 56 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms, fired a gun at him for unknown reasons.
According to the Deputies’ report, Godick fired several shots at the victim, none of which made contact. The victim left the area, and no injuries were reported. Godick was later contacted by Deputies, and consented to a search of his residence. Godick told Deputies about a Beretta firearm that he owned, and, in addition to evidence found at the shooting.
Eugene Godick was arrested for Attempted Murder and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and later transferred to the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. His bail is set at $1,000,000.
