29 PALMS MAN ARRESTED FOR CRUELTY TO INFANT

On Saturday (November 20), investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigations Division, Crimes Against Children Detail, conducted an investigation in Twentynine Palms regarding an injured eight-week-old male victim. The victim was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC), where he was diagnosed with several fractured ribs, fractured leg, ankle, and knee bones, arm and elbow fractures, a skull fracture, and a clavicle fracture. The victim’s injuries were found to be consistent with child abuse.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Edwin Roman Vega, 24, of Twentynine Palms was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center for investigation of willful child cruelty to a child with serious bodily injury. His bail was set at $100,000.
