A Twentynine Palms man was arrested last Friday (December 17) for an investigation of assault with a deadly weapon after a strange altercation. On December 17, shortly before 8 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 73700 block of Raymond Drive in Twentynine Palms for a report of a man being chased with a knife. According to Sheriff’s logs, a witness said that Monte Holmes, 31, was caught looking through a victim’s window when he pulled out a small glock BB gun. After Holmes brandished the gun, the male victim grabbed a knife to defend himself. Holmes then called 911 and allegedly hid the BB gun before law enforcement arrived. Following an investigation, Monte Holmes was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $75,000.
