A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Saturday (February 19), accused of larceny and burglary. According to Sherriff logs, deputies responded to the 7300 block of Wamego Trail in Yucca Valley shortly before 8 p.m. for a report of a suspected burglary. Deputies determined that someone had given their friend, Billy Herrington, 19, a ride to the location and witnessed him mess with a gate and then enter the property. The driver was reportedly advised by their superiors on the Marine Base to call the Sheriff. Following an investigation, deputies report that Herrington had gone to the property to retrieve his vehicle, which he owed $6,000 on for repairs. Herrington reportedly cut the locks on the gate to get his vehicle out and was subsequently arrested for investigation of larceny and burglar and booked into the Morongo Jail with his bail set at $25,000.
