29 PALMS MAN ARRESTED AFTER TRYING TO START CAR WITH A KNIFE

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested after reportedly attempting to start his car with a knife, while extremely intoxicated. Just before 7 a.m. Thursday (October 21), Sheriff deputies received a report of a man that had just broken into a vehicle in the 72500 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. Arriving deputies contacted Dominique Villa, 35 of Twentynine Palms, and determined that Villa was extremely under the influence and trying to start the vehicle by manipulating the ignition cylinder with a knife. Dominique Villa was arrested for suspicion of attempting to take a vehicle without consent and use of a controlled substance and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $25,000.
