A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Tuesday (November 9), accused of assault with a deadly weapon. Just before 6 p.m. on November 9, Deputies responded to the 72200 block of El Paseo Drive in Twentynine Palms after a strange 911 call where a woman cried softly, said “oh my god” and then hung up. Arriving deputies heard arguing coming from a garage on the property and were met by a man later identified as Gabriel Trivelas, 36. While Trivelas was indoors, the deputies attempted to locate anyone in distress at the residence from outside. When deputies tried to search in the backyard, Trivelas walked outside and allegedly began throwing rocks and sand at deputies, striking them. Gabriel Trivelas was subsequently arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.
