29 PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF FALSE IMPERSONATION, POSSESSING A STOLEN VEHICLE

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Sunday (June 20) accused of false impersonation and being in possession of a stolen vehicle. According to Sheriff’s reports, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a blue Chevy pickup truck near El Paseo Dr. and Desert Knoll Ave. in Twentynine Palms. The driver identified himself as Jonathan Bidwell and admitted to the deputy to being under the influence of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested and transported to the Morongo Basin Jail. While being booked, deputies determined the man had lied about his name and that his real name was Andrew Martinez, 37 of Twentynine Palms. Andrew Martinez was booked on a no-bail warrant and on felony charges of being in possession of a stolen vehicle and false impersonation with his bail set at $50,000.
