The youngsters of today are the old timers of tomorrow, and the Twentynine Palms Historical Society is encouraging youth to learn about the area’s history with a special program. Reporter Ernest Figueroa tells us more…
Accompanied by an adult, students in third through sixth grades who take part in the Young Historian Program will complete the Hunting for History program at the Old Schoolhouse Museum and the Mural Tour of Twentynine Palms and visit Veterans Park. They will also visit the Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center, walk the Oasis of Mara Nature Trail and the Frances Sabol Eco Trail on the Old Schoolhouse grounds, and more. Each young historian will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Young historian brochures may be picked up at the museum or downloaded from the historical society’s Young Historian webpage, link available below.
