The Twentynine Palms High School Track and Field hosted Coachella Valley High School. The much larger Coachella teams won both meets 67-45 (girls) and 91-17 (boys).
Josh Corrado led the team with 13 points winning the 1600m, 800m, and placing second in the 3200.
Freshman Caden Barry (400m), freshman Stephen Cook (110m high hurdles), Jesse Espinoza (discus), and James Wolff (triple jump) all pitched in points with third place finishes in the meet.
The girls were led by freshman Anea Haynes who won the 200m (30.92) and 400m (1:07.86).
Nicole Fuentes (100 hurdles & 100m) and Elisabeth Marshall (3200 & 1600) pitched in 8 points each earning a first and second place.
Jayde James also added in 6 points winning the high jump with a personal record of 4’3 and earning 2 more PRs in the long jump (14-4) and triple jump (30-8).
Stephen Cook and Nicole Fuentes were selected as Wildcat of the Week for their efforts in the difficult very high hurdles events.
Next week the Wildcats will travel to Desert Hot Springs.
