The 29 Palms High School Boys Varsity Tennis team traveled to Palm Valley Country Club to participate in the first three rounds of the Desert Valley League Individual Finals. The finals consisted of all 8 teams in the league. In singles action, Jason Pilayan fought hard against Cathedral City # 2 and lost a tough one 6 to 8. In doubles action, the team of Brayden Chambers/Arnulfo Moncada lost in the first round to the # 3 Desert Hot Springs team. The team of Jordan Johnson-Dowdle/Damian Contreras won their first round against Banning # 2, 8 to 0. In the second round they came up short against 2 Coachella Valley team in a tie breaker losing 7 to 8. The doubles team of Hunter Branch/Rian Kines took the first round against # 2 Desert Mirage 8 to 0. In the second round they fought against the # 1 Coachella Valley team and won 8 to 4. In the third round they faced the # 2 Indio team and won 8 to 2. Hunter and Rian moved onto the semifinals today at the Palm Valley country club.
