A false report of a weapon on campus led to a lockdown at Twentynine Palms High School this morning (September 22)
The Morongo Unified School District and the County Sheriff’s Morongo Basin Station were made aware of a report that a student was carrying a weapon at around 9 a.m.
Sheriff’s Deputies were at the campus and quickly determined that the report was false and that there was no weapon on campus. The people involved in the incident were identified, and they and their families were interviewed. Deputies are continuing their investigation of the incident.
The school was put on a lockdown, during which students must remain in the classroom, while the incident was investigated. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 10:35 a.m.
