The Twentynine Palms High School Girls Softball team hosted the Desert Mirage Lady Rams yesterday (April 24) and lost to the Lady Cats 18-1.
It was the Lady Cats senior game. Senior Captain Gabby Wunderlee went 2-2 with 3 RBI’s. Senior Lexi Dauterive went 2-3 and 2 RBI’s. Senior Mariah Avalos went 3-3 with 3 RBI’s. Jenica Silvas went 2-3 and added 4 RBI’s to the game.
Jenica Silvas pitched 4 inning and only gave up 1 unearned run with 2 hits and 6 strike outs. Freshman Anisa Youso finished the last inning with no runs and 2 strike outs.
Unfortunately Desert Mirage has to forfeit the last league game.
The Lady Cats finished 8-6 in league play and could end up tied for third or in fourth place.
Coach Daniel Mintz named Senior Mariah Avalos player of the week.
Next week the Lady Cats will start CIF playoffs.
