29 PALMS FIREWORKS BASE ACCESS

The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center will host the Twentynine Palms July 4th Celebration with a free spectacular firework show at Victory Field. The public is invited to enjoy show and the live music, balloon artists, face painters, obstacle courses, inflatable games, water attractions, and food and beer concessions. Reporter Mike Lipsitz tells us how to get in on the fun …
Unless you have regular base access, grab your chair or blanket, sun protection, an empty/refillable non-glass drinking bottle, and bag or backpack no larger than 12 x 12 inches, and head to the Main Gate on Adobe Road beginning at 3 p.m. Have government-issued ID such as a valid driver’s license and follow the signs to designated parking. From there visitors will go to a tented area to be searched, then hop a shuttle to the new Victory Field. Active duty personnel, family members, retirees and DoD employees with base access are encouraged to use either the Condor or Ocotillo gates. Carpooling and early arrival are recommended. In our next report, we’ll review some of the items not allowed at this event, or for frequently asked questions and a complete list of do’s and don’ts follow the link in this story at Z1077FM.com.
