Managing editor Tami Roleff says there is more to the film festival than just watching movies…
The Twentynine Palms Military Film Festival, set for May 13 through May 15, will feature panel discussions with war veterans, screenplay writers, and Hollywood producers and agents. On Saturday, May 14, Z107.7’s Gary Daigneault will host two discussions at the 29 Palms Inn. From 10 to 11:30 a.m., the discussion will focus on compelling war stories as a source of inspiration for filmmakers. The afternoon discussion, from 2 to 5, will revisit Hollywood’s ambiguous relationships with the Vietnam War. Saturday evening, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the 29 Palms Inn, five shortlisted authors will present their screenplays to a panel of industry professions. These events are open only to VIP Festival Pass holders. Individual ($25), family ($40), and festival ($70) passes can be purchased at the Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce, or online at a link in this story at z1077fm.com.
