29 PALMS ART GALLERY REOPENS WITH MEMBERS SHOW, OFFERS KIDS COLLAGE CLASS

The 29 Palms Art Gallery has reopened this month. Its first show is the annual Members Judged Show, which will be on display through March 28. The gallery will be open extended hours Saturday, March 6, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Awards will be presented on the gallery patio at 3 p.m., with light refreshments. The public is invited to the gallery to see the show and meet the artists. Face coverings and social distancing will be required. The gallery is located on the corner of Cottonwood Drive and National Park Drive in Twentynine Palms.

The 29 Palms Art Gallery is hosting yet another art class for or kids ages 7 and older, this one focusing on the art of collage. Reporter Heather Clisby has the details…

On Saturday, March 13, from noon to 2 p.m., the 29 Palms Art Gallery will host an online class entitled, “The Art of Collage” for kids ages 7 and up. Teacher Chantelle Rodriguez will lead students through the basic principles of collage creation and the color-blocking technique used in creating in landscapes.

Necessary materials include: scissors, glue, paper, magazines, old holiday cards, newspapers, maps and other source materials.

Class is limited to 15 students and the first 10 students to sign up will receive a free tuition. Otherwise, the cost is $12.50 for non-members and $10 for members.
