25 people were arrested, and 20 illegal marijuana grow operations countywide were shut down, including two in Twentynine Palms, two in Wonder Valley, and one in Pioneertown, during the twenty-first week of illegal marijuana grow raids. According to Sheriff’s reports, deputies and investigators from the San Bernardino County Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served 20 search warrants at properties in Wonder Valley, Twentynine Palms, Hinkley, El Mirage, Pioneertown, Highland, Oro Grande, and Helendale from January 17 through January 23 as part of Operation Hammer Strike, week twenty-one. During this time, investigators arrested 25 suspects and eradicated 208 greenhouses, as well as a THC extraction lab. Deputies seized 25,297 marijuana plants, 2,556 pounds of processed marijuana, 18 guns, 915 grams of concentrated marijuana, and over $12,000 in cash. Investigators also mitigated one electrical bypass and shut down one storefront dispensary.
The raids came as a result of numerous complaints received regarding large outdoor marijuana cultivations in the areas. The suspects were cited or booked on charges of cultivation of cannabis, over six plants, possession for sales of marijuana, illegal water discharge, manufacturing a controlled substance, utility theft, and conspiracy.
