Mark your calendars for the 24th Annual Morongo Basin Orchid Festival on October 5, from 10 to 5 p.m., and 6, from 10 to 3 p.m. Enjoy greenhouse tours; an American Orchid Society Judged Show; hands-on orchid-growing “how to” classes; orchid-only floral arrangements; great food, wine and craft beer tasting, including an orchid-flavored beer; and live music by the Yucca Valley High School jazz band. The first 50 people entering the Festival on October 6 will receive a free blooming orchid stem. Parking and admission for the Festival are free. The Orchid Festival will be held at Gubler Orchids, 2200 Belfield Boulevard, in Landers.
