Mark your calendar for the Morongo Basin Orchid Festival October 6 and 7 at Gubler Orchids on Belfield Blvd. in Landers. Whether you’re interested in a dazzling greenhouse tour, orchid class, or judged orchid show—or if you’re lured by the promise of an afternoon of great food, live jazz, beer and wine tasting, or some of the kid friendly activities, there’s something for everyone. The festival starts at 10 a.m. both days, and wraps up at 5 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Admission and parking are free and the first 50 people on Sunday will receive a free blooming orchid stem.

Proceeds from orchid sales as well as food and beverage sales will be disbursed among the more than 20 local non-profits represented at the festival and to Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary projects. Note: Non-slip, rubber-soled shoes are required for all greenhouse tours. Find more information at gublerorchids.com.
